Why should I get a medical alert system?
The unit allows you to maintain your independence while giving your loved ones the peace of mind in knowing that you are protected and that emergency help can be summoned at the touch of a button.

    How do I sign up?
Call 800-259-1234 or visit our website at acadianoncall.com, fill out the Sign Up form with your information, and we will call you regarding our service.

Do I have to sign a contract for a specified amount of time?
Our contract DOES NOT contain any time requirements for service.

Can more than one person be protected in the same location?
Yes, an extra pendant can be purchased at a one time charge of $50.00. The monitoring service fee will be charged only once per month.

    Is installation difficult?
No, the unit plugs into any AC power outlet and the phone cord plugs into your telephone outlet. Press the button to test your system once it is installed and our live dispatcher will respond confirming that your system is operating correctly. If you do have difficulty installing your system, we do have installation technicians in our service area or you may call 800-259-1234 to receive step-by-step installation instructions and help over the telephone.

Will the unit work if I lose power?
The medical alert system has a back-up battery that will operate the unit for twelve hours. Before the battery completely runs out of power, it will send a "low battery" signal to our monitoring center warning us that your unit will soon stop working.

Does the unit work if I am on the phone?
If you are using the phone connected to the medical alert system, the unit will disconnect your call and send an emergency signal. If other phones in your house are in use, the unit will not send a signal until the call is disconnected and the phone is hung up.

What is the range of the pendant?
The range of the pendant varies depending upon location of the base unit and the outside construction materials of your home, but will usually activate anywhere inside the residence. The system is designed primarily for in-home use and should not be relied upon for activation outside of the home.

    Is my pendant water resistant?
Yes, the pendant is water resistant and may be worn in accident-prone areas such as the bath or shower.

What are your Customer Service hours?
We are open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. You can contact us any time at

What options for payment are available?
Acadian On Call accepts all major credit cards, bank draft or you can be invoiced for our service.

How will emergency services gain access to my residence?

Another option is a lock box, which can be purchased from Acadian On Call by clicking here.
