FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE, July 20, 2005

Officials of Acadian Ambulance Service have announced that Trey Landry has been chosen as a finalist for the 2005 Paramedic of the Year award. Landry represents the Southeastern Region of the service area and works a swing schedule. Each year the medics of Acadian Ambulance Service select one of their peers as the outstanding paramedic of the year.

“The honor we pay to our Medic of the Year for outstanding service is shared by all Acadian medics, and especially those who were bestowed the honor of nominee,” said Director of Operations, Danny Lennie. "The nominees bring a high degree of professionalism to their jobs, as well as an attitude of caring and concern for the people they serve. We are proud to recognize Trey as an outstanding medic in the field of emergency medical services and as the Medic of the Year Nominee for the Southeastern Area.”

Landry joined Acadian Ambulance in 1995. Landry’s peers in their nomination said, “Trey has a passion for EMS that is contagious to those around him. He carries himself in a very professional manner and is very educated in his EMS skills.”

Landry volunteers his time teaching first responder training and as a volunteer fireman for the Ponchatoula Fire Department.

He and his wife, Natalie, reside in Ponchatoula with their two children, Brittany, 10 and Bryce, 7.

The 2005 Medic of the Year will be announced at the annual Paramedic Luncheon on October 28 in Lafayette. Former United States President George Bush will serve as guest speaker for the event where more than 800 guests from the medical community, elected officials and public safety agencies are expected to attend.
