An Acadian Ambulance paramedic has been selected as the state’s leading Paramedic for 2004. Hal Titus of Franklin was honored at the Louisiana National Registry of EMTs (LANREMT) annual Awards Banquet, where he received the Paramedic of the Year Award, the highest individual honor in Louisiana in the field of pre-hospital emergency medical service. Titus works as a paramedic in the Morgan City/Franklin area.

Steve Kuiper, Acadian Ambulance vice president of operations called the award "the most coveted honor bestowed on Louisiana’s paramedics."
Titus was chosen from a list of nominees throughout the state for their contributions to their communities.

An Acadian veteran since 1979, Titus is stationed in Franklin and was honored this year for dedicating a quarter of a century to his community and to Acadian. He was also chosen to represent Acadian Ambulance in the first annual JEMS Games, “Excellence in EMS competition.” The Olympic style event challenged competitors to demonstrate their assessment and treatment skills in simulated patient encounters. Titus helped Team Acadian come home with the silver.

“We are very proud of Hal’s accomplishments and honored that he is on our team,” said Kuiper. “It is gratifying that the remarkable ability and dedication that have made Hal a superb medic and an employee-owner of Acadian Ambulance have been recognized statewide."

Titus resides in Franklin with his son.
